Tracy sits at the western edge of the 209, where the valley meets the Bay Area commute. Population's grown faster than any city around it, and the food scene followed. Tracy Outlets pull weekend traffic; downtown's slower-burn renaissance has produced a coffee, wine, dinner triangle that's punching above its weight.

Brewery scene is small but serious. Lammersville is good ag adjacent. If you're driving I-205 and have an hour, get off at the Mountain House or 11th Street exit — the strip-mall menus look generic and the kitchens aren't.
